US Lacrosse is providing sportsmanship grants to 32 lacrosse organizations in 12 states to help subsidize educational workshops for athletes, parents and administrators conducted by US Lacrosse’s national partner, Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).

With a total value of $65,000, the grants are designed to support US Lacrosse’s commitment to make the game a positive, character-building experience for all participants.

“US Lacrosse is proud to partner with the PCA in creating a positive lacrosse culture, and these workshop grants help to support that shared vision for the game,” said Meghan Chaplick, senior manager of programs at US Lacrosse. “We’re glad that these grants will enable more players, parents and program leaders to experience these valuable educational workshops.”

The grants allow recipient organizations to host up to three PCA workshops for its members. The three workshop options are:

1. Leading Your Organization: Developing a Positive Coaching Culture

Leaders (board members, administration, etc.) learn how to establish and sustain a Positive Coaching Culture so that every member of the organization understands what it means to “Honor the Game.”

2. The Second-Goal Parent

Parents learn how to help their kids get the most out of the lacrosse experience and to focus on their role as a Second-Goal Parent in maintaining the Positive Culture.

3. Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor

Athletes will have more fun, increase their capacity to develop and learn, and will be more likely to return to play lacrosse next year.
